AI by industry
AI for banks, cooperatives and finance companies
AI that stays inside your own infrastructure: for documents, internal knowledge and customer support, with the controls a regulated institution needs.
Sound familiar?
Common problems
- Staff search through large volumes of policies, circulars and directives for answers.
- Account opening, KYC and loan files involve heavy manual data entry.
- Customer data cannot simply be sent to an overseas AI service.
- Staff already use public AI tools informally, without any controls.
In short
How can banks and cooperatives in Nepal use AI safely?
Banks and cooperatives can use AI safely by keeping it inside their own infrastructure. A private, on-premise AI can answer staff questions from internal policies and circulars, extract data from account and loan paperwork, and support customer service, without customer information being sent to a foreign cloud provider. It should be introduced with a written AI policy, access controls and human review of any decision that affects a customer.

Where we would start
Start with governance, then a private assistant
An AI policy and data classification come first, because they decide what may be done at all. A private on-premise assistant for internal use is then the lowest-risk way to deliver real value.
A note on your data
Financial institutions are subject to their regulator’s IT and data requirements. We design for on-premise or in-country processing by default, and work with your compliance and IT audit teams from the start.
Questions
Frequently asked
Can AI make credit decisions?
We do not recommend letting AI make or automate lending decisions. It can prepare files, summarize documents and flag inconsistencies for a credit officer, who remains responsible for the decision.
Can the whole system run without any cloud service?
Yes. Models, document search and the interface can all run on servers in your own data center with no external connection.
Does this work with our core banking system?
Integration depends on what your core system exposes. Many useful applications, such as policy search and document extraction, work beside it without touching it. We assess this before proposing anything.
